Hogia expands in North America
Marine Atlantic and Hogia have cooperated since 2007, when the corporation invested in the ferry reservation system, BOOKIT. The new terminal operating system, HT Complete, will provide Marine Atlantic increased efficiencies for their terminal operations as well as new tools and opportunities to continue to develop their business.
“As a vital part of our commercial customers’ just-in-time transportation system, we are committed to providing a reliable ferry service. This new terminal operating system will enable us to provide our valued customer with timely information and accurate information while improving the efficiency of our port operations”, says Colin Tibbo, Chief Information Officer at Marine Atlantic Inc.
“Hogia is the supplier of our reservation system, therefore investing in their terminal operating system makes good business sense. The new system is a good investment in Information Technology infrastructure that will enable us ensure information consistency while limiting the change process in other business areas”, he continues.
HT Complete helps to manage and control all operational and administrative activities on a terminal. The concept of workflow management will ensure that all work orders needed for the terminal operations are created at the right time and in the right sequence. This gives you the advantage of both high flexibility and reduction of operational cost.
HT Complete will also allow Marine Atlantic to improve their freight customers experience, for instance by offering online track and trace of their cargo. The operating system will be utilized in each of Marine Atlantic’s three terminal operations.
“While we are market leading in Scandinavia this is our first customer in North America and a breakthrough on a highly competitive market. We are very excited to expand widely abroad, which is one of our key objectives this year. Integrated systems is a success factor and we are proud that Marine Atlantic expands with Hogia and sees the advantage of having a supplier with a broad range of standardized systems”, says Lars Tingström, Managing Director at Hogia Logistics Solutions.
The new solution for Port and Terminal operations is expected to be launched in the fall of 2014.

i Oslo.
kursstart
